22 shelves, a couple thousand cans, and a letterpress are all it takes to make a bit of a splash in Nashville's nexus of bowling, food and conviviality.
Max and Ben presented us with a challenge: Make something visually compelling on an prominent 12 foot x 45 foot in their new space that folks can enjoy from 2 to 100 feet wall in 4 weeks. We said, "How about it if we make infinitely adjustable too!"
Creating what we hope we can modestly call a mural innovation, we set out to make an installation that is truly alive while also employing the lowest tech solutions we could imagine. Each can label was letter-pressed at our shop and designed by our hands. Each can contains a products we feel that the patrons of a social club will find indispensable from time to time in the arena of human interaction. Formulas are undergoing testing as we speak. Up close they are a color selection of products to browse, taken globally, each can represents one pixel in the larger can mural.
The mural design changes monthly with the spin of a can. Check out the shenanigans posted daily on instagram at #pinewoodsocial. Art meets life and everyone has a good time - it's the way it should be!
