The People of ISLE of PRINTING
Bryce McCloud, IoP's proud proprietor and head artisan, is made out of tiny blocks of lead. Some years ago, the grand overseeing spirits of omnipotence compelled him into a ministry of obsolete technology and general artistic depravity. Bryce picked up his love for printing and much of his treasured letterpress equipment from his very astute and knowledgeable uncle, Roger Frith, whom Bryce hopes to do proud with his own work. He was lucky to have spent a couple of years working with Jim Sherradan at Hatch Show Print. Eventually striking out on his own, Bryce has been working hard at IoP since 1997.
In his other disguises, Bryce attempts to reassert art into our daily lives through public art poster projects, rogue sculpture parks, and daily discussions with the population of Nashville, Tennessee (his proud home). His work is exhibited in finer galleries and maybe on a telephone pole near you!
Laura "let's draw a walrus" Baisden, Batting clean-up and drawing cute animals almost every friday, Laura puts the we in Isle of Printing these days. Go WVA!

Isle of Printing All-Star Alumni

Ali "it's a Snap" Bellos, IoP Head Collaborator for many many moons, how did I ever run this place without you? Ali made some sense out of this maelstrom and laughs(ed) at all of my stupid jokes. Guiding us away from the shoals of despair and into the blesses light of order - Ali now makes mighty fine prints and is working on a secret project...which I hope to one day see.

Michael Frederick, IoP printer and design collaborator, is a graduate of Belmont University, with a degree in graphic arts. He also has done a stint at Hatch. As well as understanding the printing traditions of the past, he is well-versed in contemporary (read computer) graphic design. He helps keep one of IOP's toes in the 21st century while still reaching the other hand for the cookie jar. Michael now works as a freelance designer and wood craftsman.

Chris Jackson, IoP apprentice printer and house poet, is learning the tricks of the trade because he realizes that the best way to get published is to just do it yourself. He assists in writing campaigns for IoP clients and divining new stage monikers for the artist once again known as Prince.

Lee Gaston, IoP intern and computer specialist, worked with IOP the summer between high school and her new adventure at Vol State Community College. She's now learning the tricks of computing to prepare for the world of graphic design. Thanks for all your hard work.
